About Me
I started working with computers when I was only 10 years old. A local software engineer who was contracted by my father to write a Newsagent customer system on a NorthStar Advantage (pre-dating modern day Personal computers) saw the spark in me I had for computers and gave me a reference manual covering all the aspects of GWbasic which this early software was written. Over the coming weeks and months I took apart his code and better adapted it to suits my fathers needs. That spark never died and while I carried on in my career working for my father, from newspaper boy, rounds man eventually leading a retail team in a supervisory role as retail manager I continued honing my skills with computers while working with them at work but also at home in my own time. Whenever friends and family had IT issues they always called me in for advice and fixes.
When my father finally retired in 1999 I set about fulfilling my lifelong ambition and started taking courses to gain qualifications to take it up as a career. I gained a CompTIA A+ certification as a PC Practitioner handing hardware & software faults. I also gained a distinction in the CompTIA A+ Certification in C# for Software Developing. During this time I also self-taught myself how to use HTML for Website development and later leading on to using PHP & MySQL databases for developing in Content Management systems i.e. PHP-Nuke, WordPress or phpBB to name but a few and adapting/creating modules to run with them. I've even written my own full 'CMS' to handle events for VZones online worlds called Argo Events.
For the last 15+ years I have been developing websites, building & fixing computers and more recently designing software for all manner of clients, individuals and for a broad range of businesses. Due to my 15 year experience in the retail sector I feel I´m adequately suited to meet any kind of needs in customer support and consider myself a very honest and trustworthy person.
